The Luther Rose
We proudly bear as banner
A cross within the heart,
To show that we have chosen
Christ the better part.

In the 1500’s Martin Luther drew a picture to show what his faith looked like. This picture is called Luther’s seal and is also known as the Luther Rose. He designed it while teaching at Wittenberg in Germany. It has become a well-known symbol of the Lutheran Church. Below are explanations of the different parts and colors that make up the symbol and also a poetic description of the symbol from the last stanza of the “Luther League Hymn” written in 1893.
Black Cross - Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins.

Red Heart - Faith gives us new hearts and desires. We believe from the heart.
White Rose - White is the color of the spirits and angels. Faith gives joy, comfort and peace with God.
Blue Sky - Faith is the beginning of heavenly joy to come.
Gold Ring - Gold is the most precious metal. We have eternal life in heaven that lasts forever and has no end.

Reading to children from infancy has been proven to help them succeed later in life. It stimulates the brain in ways that helps build key language, literacy and social skills. Opportunities for Fun at Church & Beyond
At various times throughout the year the church offers a "Kid's Night Out". An evening of fun for children at the church while parents enjoy some time off. Supervision is provided by adults and older youth.
Each summer the church offers a week long Vacation Bible School program in the evenings. To learn more CLICK HERE.
